3 available free agents who could make a run at an Eagles roster spot
Most Philadelphia Eagles fans are intrigued with Jessie Bates, but Landon Collins would be a nice consolation prize.
Perhaps one of the most overstated things you’ll see or hear if you hang around the game long enough is the rumors that pop up whenever a disgruntled star determines that he’s grown tired of his current arrangement with the team that he’s playing for.
Though many of us have grown tired of seeing those types of stories, they have to be reported. Obviously, the press and media must cover all bases in covering the teams that they’re assigned to, but the fact of the matter is this. Every NFL team’s leadership structure is asking themselves about those guys too.
Most of the time, those theories lead to nothing. Remember all of the memes of Russell Wilson in a Philadelphia Eagles jersey? Yes friends, the acquisition of James Bradberry was the exception to the rule, not the rule itself, but Philly has a need at safety still. That’s brought up discussions about Jessie Bates. So far, however, those are only discussions.
Make no mistake about it. Marcus Epps will perform well, but if the Birds are interested, former New York Giants/Washington star Landon Collins is available too. He’s appeared in 12 games while playing versus the Birds. Who knows? Maybe Philly could make him an ally instead?
