Circle that game between the Eagles and the Saints in Week 17.

They say the easiest road to the playoffs is winning one’s division. No one would classify winning a division title in the NFL as ‘easy’, but you get the idea. Philly would want to take the measure of the Dallas Cowboys, the New York Giants, and the aforementioned Commanders when given the opportunity.

If they falter, their hopes of a postseason appearance rest on earning a Wild Card berth. That’s where the New Orleans Saints come in. They’re in a similar situation to the Birds. How they should be valued has been up for debate. Some believe they’ll surprise us and potentially overtake the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC South. Whether or not they do so will come down to quarterback play. Stop us if that sounds familiar.

Jameis Winston will man the controls. We’ve seen him enjoy success before. He has no excuses this time around as he’s surrounded by talent.

There’s Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas. The latter will be back to being one-hundred percent healthy and looking to return to Pro Bowl form after missing all but seven games in 2021. We’re expecting Slay to line up against him.

There’s also Chris Olave, a six-foot, 188-pound rookie and the 11th selection of the most recent NFL Draft. He’s expected to be a rookie phenom and a deep threat.

This game, one scheduled for Week 17, could determine playoff positioning. Then again, it could decide whether or not one of these teams winds up on the outside looking in. How the Eagles’ defense limits the Saints’ offense could tell the tale. Both Slay and Bradberry will definitely earn their paychecks in this one.
