2. player. 60. . . . Adam Thielen, Vikings

Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen visit the Eagles in primetime for Week 2.

Just when you thought the words ‘Eagles home opener’ couldn’t foster any more excitement, they do. Philly’s first primetime game comes early, in Week 2 on Monday Night Football to be exact. The opponent is the Minnesota Vikings.

This is another story for another day, but can you imagine what the conversations are going to be like if Jalen Reagor is still here and he’s stinking it up while Justin Jefferson is balling out? Hopefully, Slay keeps the latter scenario from coming to fruition, but it won’t be easy.

As good as he’s been, the Vikes have another monster at wideout on the other side in the form of Adam Thielen. In all likelihood, that’s who we’ll see James Bradberry matched up against.

Thielen is a bad man in his own right, and he would probably be one of the top two receivers on most NFL depth charts. As far as the tale of the tape goes, there’s much to discuss.

He’s six-foot-two and 200 pounds. He has 118 regular-season games, 84 starts, 464 receptions, 5,966 receiving yards, and 49 touchdowns on his resume and counting. He’s also a former All-Pro (2017) and a Pro Bowler two times over (2017, 2018). That’s pretty good for a guy that went undrafted in 2013.

We keep waiting on his regression. It never seems to arrive. Last season, his eighth at football’s highest level, he put another respectable season, tallying 67 receptions, 726 receiving yards and ten touchdowns despite being, possibly, the third option in Minnesota’s attack behind Jefferson and another all-star and three-time Pro Bowler, running back Dalvin Cook.
