. Jalen Hurts, Eagles. . player. 54. .

The Eagles starting quarterback is proving he belongs near the top of the 2020 QB club.

Jalen Hurts finishes third on the list of the best quarterbacks taken during the 2020 NFL Draft. Other than Joe Burrow, Hurts is the only other quarterback of his draft class to lead his team to playoffs.

Think about it. The other two players on this list were supposed to be day-one starters as they were drafted in the first round, but when the Eagles drafted Hurts in the second, nobody was really expecting too much from him.

He was a backup to Carson Wentz at the time, but when he earned the starting job during the late stages of the 2020 season, he showed glimpses of the rising star he could become.

Like Justin Herbert, Hurts had a new coach in 2021, and it took some time for him to settle into Nick Sirianni‘s offense, but once he did, the Birds quarterback began to take the offense and team to another level.

Hurts would lead the team to win six of their final eight games and clinch the final NFC Wild Card spot. He threw for 3,144 yards and16 touchdowns versus nine interceptions while adding 784 yards and ten touchdowns with his legs.

Hurts’ numbers may not be as flashy as Burrow’s or Herbert’s, but they showed that he is one of the rising stars at the quarterback position.
