Jalen Hurts has been a mixed bag following five practices at Eagles camp. How are you feeling?

Five training camp practices are in the books. Five remain, and as you might imagine, Jalen Hurts, QB1 of the Philadelphia Eagles, remains one of the popular topics. No one should be shocked.

He’s playing the most recognizable position in all of sports. He’s playing in one of the most demanding cities for a team that’s home to the NFL’s most demanding fan bases.

How is he doing? We’re glad that you asked. Here’s a look at his best and worst throws through training camp so far. If you’re active on Twitter, some of them may sound familiar.

The first practice (Wednesday, July 27th)

The Eagles, both veterans and rookies, returned to the NovaCare Complex on Tuesday, July 26th. The first of ten scheduled training camp practices came a day later. Things moved swiftly (the session wrapped after 58 minutes). Here are a few highlights.

Best throw:

This is the one that set Twitter on fire. Jalen Hurts throws a back shoulder throw to Quez Watkins in the right end zone. QB1 placed the ball perfectly. Quez made an adjustment and a reception that was just as beautiful.

Worst throw:

Here’s one of those kinks that comes from knowing your starting quarterback is still young and even though he and one of his best receivers are tight, the chemistry still has to be worked on. From an off-balance position, Jalen misses an open A.J. Brown who’s running towards the sideline.

It’s only practice. There’s time to improve, but moments like these determine whether teams continue drives or punt on fourth down.

According to Eliot Schorr-Parks of 94 WIP-FM, perhaps the best at keeping up with training camp stats, QB1 completed 12 of 15 attempts. That resulted in four TD passes and one interception.
