Ranking every Eagles rookie on 53-man roster ahead of 2022 NFL season
The ‘impossible climb’ tier: During the preseason, we watched two Eagles defy the odds.
Seven rounds of the most recent NFL Draft came and went without any NFL team scribbling Josh Sills or Reed Blankenship‘s name on a draft card. The Eagles added both to their training camp roster as undrafted rookie free agents shortly thereafter, They had tough climbs to beat the odds and catapult themselves onto the 53-man roster.
Both made short work of that task.
After the introduction of the initial 53-man roster, it was believed that, if any further additions were made, Josh Sills might be the first man cut. Well, since then, Philadelphia has added Ian Book and Trey Sermon, and Sills hasn’t gone anywhere.
It appears the Eagles are higher on him than we thought.
Watching Reed Blankenship play every down he was allowed on the field like it was the last snap he’d ever take was a joy to watch all preseason. That also made him a fan favorite.
His NFL journey began with him being the low man on the Philadelphia Eagles’ totem pole at the safety position. Now, he’s on the roster, and get this. He’ll play some quality snaps during the regular season. Good for him! He’s earned it!
