Here are a few other free-agent options if the Eagles are interested.

If Jason Pierre-Paul, Kemoko Turay, and Takkarist McKinley aren’t viewed as viable replacements, here are a few other guys that might be intriguing options.

Alex Okafor

Alex Okafor is another guy on the wrong side of 30 by NFL standards, but he’s also talented when used appropriately. In 106 career regular-season games with 60 career starts, he’s come up with 215 total tackles and 31.5 career sacks. He can also play with his hand in the dirt or standing up.

Jalyn Holmes

We’re admittedly stretching here, but there aren’t many attractive young options that are out there. Jalyn Holmes is probably better suited to play inside as opposed to playing defensive end, but he does have some experience with playing on the edge. He doesn’t get to the quarterback much either having only posted one sack in 33 career games.

Noah Spence

Noah Spence is another young option and a Philly native with 43 career games, 43 career tackles, and 7.5 sacks on his professional resume. He might be worth a look if the Birds are in a pinch.

Benson Mayowa

Here’s another of the more experienced options. Benson Mayowa has taken the field for 115 regular-season games during his NFL career. He’s also been relatively healthy over that time, tallying 185 total tackles, 27 sacks, and eight forced fumbles over his nine NFL seasons.

We wouldn’t break the bank on him. If he is, however, willing to sign a deal that’s team friendly, he could be a nice rotational piece.
