Miles Sanders is doing all that he can to ensure that he’s with the Eagles for the foreseeable future.

One of the biggest reasons that Kenneth Gainwell was drafted in 2021 (and Boston Scott and Jordan Howard were both re-signed for another run) was Sanders’ lack of situational awareness during games.

He ran out of bounds (twice) when the team was trying to run the clock out versus the Carolina Panthers in Week 5 of last season for example. They also say that the greatest ability is availability. We all know what that has looked like.

Miles Sanders has consistently endured more than his fair share of injuries. He missed most of the regular-season finale during his rookie season. He missed eight more games between 2020 and 2022.

While Miles Sanders has always had elite speed and agility, he hasn’t proven that he can remain healthy for a full season’s worth of games. He has become far more decisive and physical as a runner though, and he’s the perfect feature back for Shane Steichen’s attack. All we need to learn now is whether or not he has the ability to be available.

The tide may be turning as far as those durability issues. He’s proven that he can stay healthy so far this season. If that continues through the remainder of the campaign, he could return on a team-friendly deal. In the meantime, it’s hard not to like what you’re seeing here.
