The Philadelphia Eagles play in one of our great country’s best sports markets. They’re backed by one of the most loyal and sometimes rabid fan bases. Their schedule is favorable. Oh, and by the way, they’ve won each of their first six games. Phrases like ‘fever pitch’ come to mind.

Birds fans can’t stop talking about the guys in midnight green. Neither can the national media. Thank goodness for a laser-focused quarterback and a coaching staff that’s obsessed with staying focused on the next opponent.

That won’t stop anyone from bringing up the Eagles whenever there’s an opportunity. With the Pittsburgh Steelers on the horizon, let’s take a moment to peruse the airwaves and get a few ideas on what everyone is saying.

Everyone, and we do mean everyone, is talking about the Eagles following a bye.

There’s no better place to find Eagles content than in the City of Brotherly Love. Taryn Hatcher and Barrett Brooks hung out on NBC Sports Philly’s Birds Huddle to talk about the upcoming stretch of games, a stretch on which the Birds play several unproven quarterbacks.

Brooks credits that for being much of the reason why he thinks the Birds’ winning ways will continue in Week 8. Here’s more on that and a few other theories. Thank NBC Sports Philly’s YouTube page for the clip.

Recently on NFL Network, former Eagle Brian Baldinger raved about some of the offseason additions and the phenomenal play of the secondary. He believes Philadelphia has the best secondary in all of pro football. That’s high praise as is what we’ve heard on the Move The Sticks podcast with Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks.

The latter stated he spent some time around the Birds recently and that the Eagles have a “terrific” defensive line with ball hawks in the secondary. Still, the best take we’ve heard came from a loyal fan, probably because we hope he’s right when he says he’s “thinking about a dynasty”.

Check out what Ryan Phillippe said on a recent visit to The Rich Eisen Show.

As Brooks pointed out, Philadelphia’s 14 takeaways are the most in the NFL. Let’s hope the defense continues to step up in key moments and Jalen Hurts and the offense continue improving.

Though we love the enthusiasm, it’s much too early to begin thinking about a dynasty (we hope Ryan is right though). Meanwhile, Rich Eisen’s thoughts mirror some of our own.

We used to think the Eagles were stockpiling picks to take a quarterback in 2023’s NFL Draft if they found one they liked. Now that Hurts is excelling, might Philadelphia invest that capital into another game-changer at another position?

It’s too early to have that conversation as well. We’ll revisit a few months from now.
