Philadelphia Eagles morning coffee: Highlights from Thanksgiving week
It’s been quite the week. On Sunday, we watched the Philadelphia Eagles survive a gut check a.k.a a spirited effort by the Indianapolis Colts. 14 fourth-quarter points helped lift the Birds to victory. Then, we began preparing for Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and NCAA football’s rivalry weekend. If you’re like the rest of us, you probably also watched some World Cup action.
A 0-0 draw probably isn’t what you were looking forward to if you’ve been following Team USA, but hey, it’s better than a loss. We’ve finally recovered from a busy week. Here are a few stories that didn’t receive the proper amount of attention in our eyes. Some of them you may have read about. Some may have snuck past you.
Lane Johnson named as the Philadelphia Eagles nominee for the 2022 Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award.
Negativity often fuels what the media decides they’ll cover. For that reason, Inside The Iggles does its best to spotlight any Bird who garners a positive mention.
Every year, 32 players are nominated for the 2022 Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award. Lane Johnson is the Eagles’ representative. Here’s the full list.
QB1, Jalen Hurts, talked about his right tackle during his mid-week chat with select members of the Philly media.
Philadelphia Eagles release OL Tyrese Robinson from the practice squad
Practice squad movement isn’t always among the most talked about discussions, but to the die-hard fan, it’s as fascinating as anything else team-related. The Eagles shuffled their scout team a lot this week, releasing Jarrid Williams from the unit’s I.R. along with Auden Tate before adding Anthony Rush and releasing Tyrese Robinson.
Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni isn’t worried about Robert Quinn’s slow start.
The Eagles traded a fourth-round selection in the 2023 NFL Draft to the Chicago Bears to acquire Robert Quinn‘s services on October 26th. There haven’t been any major fireworks yet as he’s played 59 defensive snaps since his arrival, but his head coach has full confidence in him.
Quinn appeared in 38 games for the Bears, so he’s very familiar with the Packers. Might Week 12 provide a breakout game? Stay tuned.
Darius Slay delights in showdown with Aaron Rodgers via Dave Spadaro of PhiladelphiaEagles.com
With that being said, we shift our focus to Round 11. Perhaps you’ve heard? The Eagles meet the Packers for the 46th time. This time around they do battle in primetime on Sunday Night Football.
Check out Eagles Insider Dave Spadaro’s write-up on Darius Slay. He has his sights set on an Eagles victory and on picking off future Hall-of-Famer Aaron Rodgers. We wouldn’t have any problem with seeing him do so.
