Only in the City of Brotherly Love can a 14-3 team win its division, a first-round bye, and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs while still being one of the most scrutinized Philadelphia Eagles teams this town has seen in recent memory. Truthfully, this is still one of the NFL’s best units. The resume proves that, but people are nervous, particularly about the health of some of this team’s stars, Lane Johnson included. On Friday, he took the first step in easing some of the tension.

Lane was present for on-field activities and Philly’s final workout session before pro football enters Super Wild Card Weekend. That alone is a reason to smile.

Here are a few of the highlights. Thank NBC Sports Philadelphia‘s Dave Zangaro and E.J. Smith of The Philadelphia Inquirer for the visuals.

After Friday’s practice, he was made available to the media. As you might imagine. Much of the press found its way to his locker.

Here’s what Lane Johnson had to say after competing in a practice session for the first time in several weeks.

We mentioned earlier that there’s some worry floating around Eagles-centered circles. That’s understandable to some degree. Much rides on this coming postseason. The Eagles have a legitimate shot at winning the Super Bowl, and to ignore some of the obvious red flags would make us no different than those delusional Dallas Cowboys fans.

Still, encouraging signs help ease some of the tension. Seeing Jalen Hurts throw at practice helps. Seeing QB1 and C.J. Gardner-Johnson return to the lineup helps. It most certainly helps to see Lane back competing and smiling. Here’s some of what he had to say.

“It’s all about the rehab process and how we attack that”. We like it! Lane Johnson has had a fantastic season so far. He was also named to the Associated Press NFL All-Pro Team as a member of the First Team. Hopefully, he can help the Eagles put a bow on what’s been a fantastic season.

We can only imagine what he’s going through in terms of pain. Truthfully, an injury like this would put most of us on the shelf (and we don’t even play football). Then again, this is just further evidence of what we have already known.

Lane Johnson is a warrior, and he’s probably an alien from another planet. Then again, he could be both.
