Regardless of what happens from here on out, Boston Scott’s place in Eagles lore is secure.

It isn’t often that the name ‘Boston’ draws a smile from Philadelphia sports fans, but once Boston Scott relieved an injured Miles Sanders during the 2019 season’s finale versus the hated New York Giants and helped the Eagles to a playoff appearance, he had already become a franchise legend. Think about it.

Had he done nothing else, he would have entered that rare air, guys that weren’t here long but also qualify as those stars that we’ll always remember. Think LeGarrette Blount or Corey Clement. Those guys helped the Eagles win a Super Bowl though. Scott still has some work to do on that front.

Ten of his 17 career TDs have come at the expense of Big Blue. From now until the end of time, if you mention the words ‘Giant KIller’, people know exactly who you’re discussing. There have been arguments about whether or not this coaching staff has used him enough or what he could have accomplished had he been given more opportunities. Here’s what we can verify.

He’s talented AND he’s durable. Whenever the decision is made to get the ball in his hands, good things happen more often than not. If this is the end, it’s been fun. Here’s to, hopefully, a few more highlight-reel plays down the stretch.
