Though it may seem like the Eagles legend can play forever, we realize he won’t.

After discussing lessons learned, it feels right to transition to lottery-style winnings. Welcome to Jason Kelce‘s portion of this discussion.

The Philadelphia Eagles literally hit the lottery almost a dozen years ago with the selection of what was considered an undersized interior offensive lineman that hailed from a school that we haven’t always viewed as a traditional NCAA power. Who drafts guys from the Cincinnati Bearcats?

Then again, Birds fans are well aware of the greatness that often lies in the Bearcats’ cupboard. Their favorite team also found Trent Cole and Brent Celek there

Looking back, it’s hard to believe that Philly selected seven players in 2011’s NFL Draft before they decided on one of the most beloved Birds of all time in Round 6. It’s even harder to believe that Danny Watkins, Julian Vandervelde, Casey Matthews, and Jaiquawn Jarrett were four of those players that they took.

Kelce has earned the right to play for as long as he wants and walk away when he wants, but one has to wonder, if the Eagles seal the deal and Jason earns another ring, might that lead him to walk away?

Gosh, we hope not. We know Jason Kelce won’t play forever even if it feels like he could, but it doesn’t feel right if he isn’t around.
