There’s no way the Philadelphia Eagles spend a first-round draft choice on a running back, right?

In 2022, the Eagles witnessed the best season of Miles Sanders’ career, but no one is certain, despite the first Pro Bowl nod of his career, if that guarantees him an extension with the Birds during the offseason.

If he isn’t retained (and if Boston Scott is allowed to walk), Kenneth Gainwell would be their only tailback under contract for the 2023 NFL season. Bijan Robinson is interesting. He is a bonafide starting in the making who has been linked to the Eagles via mock draft before. He has actually been among the highest-ranked NCAA tailback prospects for almost two years.

It’s doubtful that the Eagles take a tailback in Round 1. They aren’t valued like they once were, but if he falls to the latter portion of the first round or into the second like we often see talented running back prospects do, the six-footer could be an effective replacement or a welcomed compliment to Miles Sanders in the rushing game, one with arguably more upside.
