Will the Eagles be able to shut down Patrick Mahomes’ #1 target?

One of the guys Patrick Mahomes will be looking for a lot during the Super Bowl is tight end Travis Kelce. He’s been Patrick’s favorite and most reliable target for a while now.

Jason Kelce’s younger brother led the Chiefs in receiving yards and touchdowns this year with 1,338 yards and 12 trips to the end zone respectively. Here’s something else of note. He was the only tight end to finish among the top ten NFL receivers in yards gained during the 2022 regular season.

Travis, as you might expect, has continued his strong play in the playoffs. He has hauled in 176 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns.

These days, he has seen more attention because of the absence of Tyreek Hill, but opposing defenses have still had a hard time stopping the future Hall of Famer. It’s a credit to the great chemistry Mahomes and Kelce have built throughout the years.

If somehow, the Eagles slow him down, Mahomes isn’t afraid to throw around the ball to different wide receivers. He did a lot of that this season.

Kansas City versus Philadelphia is expected to be a really exciting matchup. Both teams can score points which means that it will probably be the best defensive effort that decides who the winner is.
