Hardman won’t be on the field when KC takes on the Eagles in SB LVII.

Status: Out.

When Mecole Hardman is on the field for the Chiefs, he is one of the more dangerous weapons at the wide receiver position because of his speed. During past postseason runs, he has always been able to come up with big plays.

After the departure of their top receiver Tyreek Hill during the offseason. Many hoped Mecole would step his game up to another level in the 2023 season and become one of the leaders of this unit, but that, unfortunately, didn’t happen.

The former Georgia Bulldog didn’t have the season he had hoped to. Try 25 receptions for 297 yards with four touchdowns on for size.

One reason for the dip in his production was he suffered an abdomen injury in Week 9. That sidelined him until the AFC Championship Game versus the Bengals. Unfortunately, the comeback was short-lived. He would re-aggravate his injury after only catching two passes for ten yards.

Kansas City announced this week that Hardman would be placed on the injured reserve for the second time this season. That ends his season. The former second-round pick might be out, but the news for the other guys in the group is better.
