player. 807. . . . Devon Witherspoon, Illinois. 2

Devon Witherspoon and Christian Gonzalez top our list of possible James Bradberry draft replacements.

Devon Witherspoon is small. He tips the scales at 183 pounds. Some say he is six-foot tall though some scouts have listed him as five-foot-eleven. He has also had injury concerns, but gosh he’s good.

Team sources love his cover skills and believe he can prevent separation. They also like his instincts and his physicality. Here’s someone who honestly might not be the James Bradberry comp in terms of size and strength, but we also don’t believe that anyone else on this list is, pound for pound, better than he is if he can prove to be durable. That is except for the top man on our list.

. . Christian Gonzalez, Oregon. 1. player. 820.

Christian Gonzalez might be able to coach if, Heaven forbid, the dream of NFL stardom doesn’t work out. Something tells us that he won’t have to worry about that though. Pro scouts were impressed with him in 2021 (some of them might have found him while watching Kayvon Thibodeaux’s tape last season), but he hasn’t damaged his stock any in 2022. On the contrary, he elevated it.

Entering 2022, he didn’t have any interceptions during his first 18 games as a member of the Oregon Ducks, but in his final 12 games, he picked off four passes en route to First-Team All-Pac-12 honors. Now, with a solid offseason, he might be the first cornerback taken in the NFL Draft after foregoing his final year of eligibility to turn pro.

Hot. Everything Hurts has said since Super Bowl 57. light
