We’re beginning to think that podcasts will be the death of us all. It’s become impossible to get through a week without hearing about guys slinging the mud or ticking off fans while hanging out on one. We won’t call out any names here, but in many cases, it’s hard to tell whether or not we’re watching professional athletes or an episode of WWE’s Total Divas. There, we had to get that out! In this week’s installment of unnecessary drama, it appears that A.J. Brown threw on a hat that some fans took offense to and joked about being traded. As you might expect, the world went bananas.

Seriously, is this where we are now? Some of you are probably confused, so let’s back the dump truck up.

Philadelphia Eagles star wideout appeared on an episode of the Raw Room wearing a K.C. Royals cap. You can see where this is headed, right? Don’t worry. It gets worse.

A.J. Brown responds to the negative reaction following his recent appearance on Raw Room.

As you might expect, following a tough loss to Kansas City’s football team in Super Bowl LVII, the news of Philly’s star wideout wearing a cap related to anything from K.C. didn’t go over well in some segments of the Eagles’ fan base. Who are we kidding? This is Twitter. There are people who aren’t fans of either team that are looking to get a few shots in.

Swole Batman, clearly joking, weighed in on the Jalen Hurts/contract extension discussion in, shall we say, true A.J. Brown fashion.

There’s no nice way to put this. There are so many other things that you should be focusing on if this bothers you. Some of the tweets and comments that were dropped in response to Brown’s choice of headgear and his joke border on crossing the line. Some do so entirely, so we won’t share any here.

We still would like to provide clarity. He’s joking. It’s a hat. Jalen Hurts is staying in Philly. We all know that. A.J. responded on social media.

In all honesty, this doesn’t bother us nearly as much as guys who wait until they’ve left the field of play to insult someone on a podcast by stating things they never stated in front of that same person. In our opinion, that’s where the real issues lie. This, on the other hand, makes us feel like people need to find better use of their time.

A.J. Brown has been a good soldier to Philly since landing with the Eagles. If you doubt that, go watch some games from this past season.

We realize that, to some of you, he broke a rule or two that isn’t written, but if he says his choice of a ball cap was about color and less about the emblem, that’s good enough for us. Again, there are so many other things that we can spend our time worrying about.
