Here are a few guys the Eagles could bring in for a workout and/or training camp if the Eagles find themselves in a pinch.

Charleston Rambo, wide receiver (Oklahoma, 2019)

Charleston Rambo’s NFL career was short-lived, and that’s putting things mildly. Signed by the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent this past season, he was waived on August 30th.

He’s currently on the Orlando Guardians roster in the XFL. It’s doubtful he’d make Philly’s roster, but if they need bodies for training camp, he may be worth a look.

Anthony Averett, cornerback (Alabama, 2016-2017)

Anthony Averett isn’t among the NFL’s top 20 potential free agents at the cornerback position. In all honesty, he may not be among the top 30, but is he worse than Josh Jobe or Mario Goodrich? We aren’t quite ready to state that.

He’d be a long shot to make the Eagles’ 2023 roster. We recommend using a first-round draft choice on a corner, but even still, Averett is still worth checking out.

Mack Wilson, linebacker (Alabama. 2016-2018)

After three relatively forgettable years with the Cleveland Browns, Mack Wilson appeared in all 17 games for New England and made three starts. That resulted in 36 tackles, 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble, and a pass breakup.

That’s a better stat line than what the Eagles got collectively from Patrick Johnson, Davion Taylor, Kyron Johnson, and Nakobe Dean. No disrespect is intended to the young guns, we’re only offering a comparison.

We will say this though. We feel like Mack Wilson would work harder on special teams.

Da’Shawn Hand, defensive end (Alabama, 2016-2017)

The last time the Eagles poached the Tennessee Titans roster (A.J. Brown), things turned out pretty well for Philly. Some might say the Two-Tone Blue is still reeling from that one.

Da’Shawn Hand, a Philadelphia native, would more than likely welcome a homecoming a la Haason Reddick. There’s a huge issue though. Hand isn’t Reddick.

Most of his recent years have been marred by injury and him barely holding on to spots on practice squads. Still, as a member of this defensive end meeting room,  Hand could benefit and earn a practice squad position.
