Milton Williams could be one of the Eagles’ stars of the defensive tackle rotation next season.

Philadelphia is looking for their young defensive tackles to step up this year and fill the void that Javon Hargrave left by exploring a new well-paying opportunity in free agency. One of those young DTs is Milton Williams, who the Eagles selected in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Williams collected 30 tackles, six tackles for losses, 16 pressures, six quarterback hits, and two sacks in 17 games during his rookie season. His six tackles for loss were the most by a Birds rookie defensive tackle since Fletcher Cox racked eight in 2012.

In his sophomore season, Milton got off to a slow start due to a couple of injuries (turf toe and a hyperextended elbow), but following the Eagles’ bye in Week 7, he started to catch fire for the rest of the year.

The Louisiana Tech alum collected 36 tackles, four sacks, nine tackles for losses, and six quarterback hits in 17 games in the 2022 season.

Those numbers should improve in the upcoming season. No one would mind if he doubled them as Williams, who has only started two games in his pro career, could be seeing a lot more action on the field this time around.
