54. . . . Corey Clement, RB (2020). 30. player

Corey Clement will forever be remembered as an Eagles Super Bowl hero, but past that, he’s a very good tailback whose decline came rapidly.

No one will ever forget Corey Clement’s rookie season in 2017 after he fought and clawed to earn a spot on the roster as a rookie undrafted free agent. Following a phenomenal first chapter, his place in Eagles lore is secure… like forever.

Clement appeared in all 16 games of his rookie campaign. He collected 321 yards rushing and four TDs on 74 carries and another 123 yards and two trips to the end zone on ten receptions. He’s also one of the biggest heroes from Super Bowl LII.

Corey went off in Minnesota. His catch and run set up the Philly Special, a play in which he took the handoff. His toe-tap in the back of the end zone was a thing of beauty.

He finished with 100 yards receiving on four catches, eight yards rushing on three attempts, a 25-yard kickoff return, and the aforementioned receiving TD. Sadly, he’s never been able to equal what he did on February 4th of 2018.

In his second season, he was placed on injured reserve on December 11, 2018 after suffering a knee injury in Week 14. He landed on the IR again in year three, and Philly elected against placing the restricted free agent tender on him during the 2020 offseason.

After he became a free agent and no team claimed him in 2020, the Eagles again signed him to see if he had anything left. It was determined quickly that there wasn’t much there.

He’s been on four rosters since Philadelphia finally moved on and is now a member of the Arizona Cardinals. We’ll see how things go for him this season.
