Worst-case scenarios for the Eagles first selection in the 2023 NFL Draft
4. What if the Eagles didn’t draft Bijan Robinson, but he landed with the Dallas Cowboys?
Yes, friends… This is a thing.
Here’s a question. Who has been the biggest issue that has prevented the Eagles from establishing long-term dominance over the Dallas Cowboys? It would have to be Ezekiel Elliott, right? There isn’t a Birds fan walking that isn’t happy to see him gone, but there’s a rumor that, if the Eagles don’t draft Bijan Robinson, Dallas might take a swing at 26… if he’s still on the board,
Say what you will about Bijan Robinson and whether you’d take him or you wouldn’t, but here’s some truth serum for the party. Philly doesn’t want to deal with this guy twice a year as an opponent.
5. Philly selects Peter Skoronsk or Calijah Kancey.
As blunt as this may sound, when we mentioned boom or bust prospects earlier these were the two guys that we were thinking about. Peter Skoronski isn’t a future replacement for Lane Johnson. His arms are too short. He grades as an NFL guard, and truth be told, we feel sorry for Calijah Kancey sometimes.
Whoever named Aaron Donald as a comp for this young man was just cruel. That isn’t to say that he will fail or that Skoronski will fail either. Truthfully, we think both will be great pros. They just aren’t worthy of top-ten selections.
