We don’t know what to expect from Sean Desai yet, but we’re very much aware that he has no shortage of weapons.

At the time of this story’s creation and release, Sean Desai has been the Eagles’ defensive coordinator for a little over two months. We still haven’t seen his first press conference yet, but we know he’s a student of the Vic Fangio coaching tree.

They worked together in Chicago on the Bears’ coaching staff from 2015 to 2018. Maybe his style will resemble what we saw there. Maybe it resembles what we saw when Desai was the D.C. there. Maybe it won’t. Whatever the case, we can assure you he’ll have a lot of talent in his unit.

Defensive end (4)

Brandon Graham, Josh Sweat, Derek Barnett, Tarron Jackson

Brandon Graham and Josh Sweat are the starters. Derek Barnett returns from injury, and we’re placing our hopes on the light bulb coming on for Tarron Jackson. This is his third season. Hopefully, he takes a step forward.

Here’s something else to consider. Milton Williams can play on the outside if necessary.

Defensive tackle (5)

Fletcher Cox, Jordan Davis, Jalen Carter, Milton Williams, Kentavius Street

Last season, the Eagles deployed something in the range of about 20 interior defensive linemen. Okay, maybe it wasn’t that many, but they suffered an expected but obvious loss with Javon Hargrave’s departure this past March.

The void has been filled with the additions of Kentavius Street during free agency and Jalen Carter and Moro Ojomo in the NFL Draft. For now, we’ll place five defensive tackles on the active roster and Ojomo on the practice squad.
