Short memories are key to long-term NFL success. The Philadelphia Eagles have known that for a long time, and we've learned that by watching so much football. Cornerbacks have to forget being beaten by wide receivers rather quickly. Failure to do so could result in a string of bad plays.

Short-term memory loss also aids quarterbacks in bouncing back after turnovers, but teams, players, and coaches can't only forget the mishaps. They have to shove good memories aside too.

Week 18 was fun. No, Saquon Barkley didn't break Eric Dickerson's rushing record (he did earn some extra cash though). We bounced back. We wiped our tears with the stat sheet from another Eagles win over the New York Giants

And, how about this? The win doubled as Jeffrey Lurie's 300th as Eagles owner, but now it's time to forget all of that. You know... Short memories and whatnot...

The Birds have a Wild Card Round Game to play in less than seven days.

Here's the full NFL Playoff schedule. Philly begins their title hunt with a home game vs. the Green Bay Packers.

Philly's first postseason game is scheduled for Saturday. The opponent is familiar. It's the same team they met during the regular-season opener, the Green Bay Packers.

This marks the fourth time these two proud franchises have met during the postseason. Philly beat The Pack in the 1960 NFL Championship Game at Franklin Field. That would be the only postseason loss Vince Lombardi would lose as an NFL head coach.

51 years later, an Aaron Rodgers-led Packers team beat Philly at Lincoln Financial Field en route to a Super Bowl win and a Vince Lombardi Trophy. Hopefully, the Birds use The Cheeseheads as springboards to a Vince Lombardi Trophy of their own this coming February.

Here's a look at the competing teams in the NFC and AFC and the bracket.

This one is for NFL supremacy. While the Eagles aren't assured of anything yet, we like their chances. Call us crazy, but we're already checking out flight plans and hotel/rental car options.
