3 Eagles players Howie Roseman should show the door (when possible)

From now until the Philadelphia Eagles enter training camp in July, there is not likely to be a whole lot of movement within the roster, unless of course, your name is A.J. Brown. But, that's been coming for a while now.

Looking at other areas, the Eagles are very likely, pretty much set.

However, there are some spots where they could afford to simply cut ties with a player in one way or another. Whether it's because of an abundance of names in the same room or simply due to poor performance and the risk being too high, Philly has a handful of names that could be shown the door here in a matter of time.

The Eagles need to part ways with a few players but for different reasons

One way or another, Kelee Ringo needs to go

This would be an even more urgent conversation had the Eagles not gone out and signed Riq Woolen to start opposite of Quinyon Mitchell. But, Eagles fans are tired of Kelee Ringo and have been for a couple of years.

Back when Philly took him in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, all we could think was that the Eagles somehow stole another Georgia Bulldogs defender. It could have ended up being a masterful pick by Roseman.

Instead, Ringo is coming out of Year 3 and it very well could be argued as his worst yet as a pro. With a poor coverage grade of just 49.2 per PFF and a season that saw him penalized a whopping seven times, he's got to go.

Even as a reserve, Ringo makes fans nervous. If either Woolen or Mitchell get hurt, the Eagles are bound to see him come in and make a dumb mistake like he does so often. At this point, try the guys behind him as the top reserves. He needs to go, whether it's being cut or traded for pretty much anything at all.

The Eagles cannot keep four quarterbacks -- it's time for a Tanner McKee trade

Earlier in the offseason, there was more talk of the Eagles possibly looking at trading backup quarterback Tanner McKee. Then, they traded for Andy Dalton, giving them a strong, veteran backup behind Jalen Hurts. It seemed even more logical, after that deal, that McKee would be dealt.

Fast forward to days after the 2026 NFL Draft, where the Eagles selected Cole Payton, and now the team has four quarterbacks they could wind up keeping. Sure, Payton might not be used in the traditional sense. But, he is still taking up a quarterback spot on the depth chart.

At this point, it makes sense to deal McKee, and there's a perfect suitor staring them in the face over in the Motor City. The Detroit Lions are banking on Teddy Bridgewater, at this stage of his career, if Jared Goff ever goes down. McKee gives them a young, capable backup; meanwhile, Bridgewater can enjoy life after football.

Joe Tryon-Shoyinka won't make the Eagles' final roster

We have touched on this idea earlier in the offseason, too, but there is no chance Joe Tryon-Shoyinka makes this Eagles roster. They might not cut him until later in the summer, but he is essentially a warm body for this year's training camp.

It is still pretty hard to believe he has gone from a first-round pick to a complete and total bust in just five years, but the 32nd overall selection in 2021 hardly even played last season after the Bears traded for him. That should tell us everything we need to know.
