It's another rollercoaster year for Philadelphia Eagles fans. Just one year after winning the Super Bowl in one of the most dominant seasons in recent NFL history, it feels like the entire franchise is falling apart. Jeff Stoutland has walked away from the team, and Nick Sirianni may quietly be on the hot seat.
General manager Howie Roseman is tasked with holding it all together. The Eagles are set to lose a few key veterans to the free agent market unless they find a way to keep them in Philadelphia.
With free agency rapidly approaching, Roseman should prioritize re-signing these three players.
3 Eagles veterans Howie Roseman needs to re-sign in 2026
Jaelan Phillips
It's hard to believe that Roseman would dish out a third-round pick to bring in Jaelan Phillips for less than a year. The veteran pass rusher is about to hit free agency, but it feels like the Eagles will do what it takes to bring him back.
While Phillips has struggled to stay healthy throughout his NFL career, he's an effective player when on the field. The Eagles have already seen too much turnover in their edge group to let a player of his caliber walk out the door. Roseman should make sure he doesn't lose Phillips this offseason.
Dallas Goedert
There's no question that Dallas Goedert's time with the Eagles is nearing its end. But with multiple holes on the roster that need addressing this offseason, the Eagles should try to keep the veteran tight end around for at least one more year. He posted a career-high mark in touchdown receptions in 2025, indicating that he still has more left in the tank at 31 years old.
Spotrac estimates that Goedert's market value would hover around just $6 million this offseason. Even if the Eagles have to pay a bit more than that for his services, they shouldn't hesitate to make a deal happen.
Reed Blankenship
Safety Reed Blankenship may have had a down year in 2025, but the Eagles shouldn't overlook three seasons of solid production. He's still a capable starter in Vic Fangio's defense and provides an important level of experience alongside 2025 second-round pick Andrew Mukuba.

According to Spotrac, Blankenship is set to earn about $7.2 million per year on his next deal. That may be more than Roseman typically prefers to pay his safeties, but he should make an exception in this case.
