Nick Sirianni was just named to most ridiculous list (but it kind of makes sense)

It's crazy, but it tracks.

Nobody can deny that the Nick Sirianni era as head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles has gone smoothly, and it has been an incredible run that the franchise has never had with any other coach.

Sirianni has posted a winning record every year and gone four straight years with 10 or more wins. He's also led the franchise to two Super Bowls since 2022, winning one in 2024, becoming the first Eagles coach to lead the team to the big game twice and the second to win a Super Bowl alongside Doug Pederson.

That said, Sirianni has consistently found himself in the hot seat for multiple reasons throughout his tenure. Apparently, that seat is heating up hotter than ever.

Nick Sirianni is on the hot seat going into 2026

FOX Sports NFL reporter Ralph Vacchiano shared his list of the top eight head coaches on the hot seat entering the 2026 season. Sirianni, surprisingly (or unsurprisingly), is number two on the list.

"If this seems ridiculous given Sirianni’s 59-26 record, three division titles, two trips to the Super Bowl and one championship in his four years … well, you don’t know Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie then. His standards are crazy high and there is deep disappointment inside his organization over the wasted opportunities in both 2023 and 2025.

Not all of that is directed at Sirianni, but sources said there has been internal frustration about his staffing choices and, at times, the way he manages what is sometimes a difficult locker room. But mostly it’s the late fade and playoff failures in those two seasons.

The Eagles will probably win double-digit games and the NFC East again in 2026. But if they don’t advance in the playoffs, no one will be shocked if they make a change."

There's been a lot of drama in the Eagles' locker room, with A.J. Brown's antics and multiple reports leaking out about frustration with Jalen Hurts. There's also been the whiffs at offensive coordinator with Brian Johnson and Kevin Patullo.

That said, the Eagles are not going to find many coaches who can find ways to win games like Sirianni. The dysfunction can be severe at times, but this is not something he is creating; it is the media around him in Philly that does that. He could do a better job controlling it, though, which is part of the problem.

Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has defended Sirianni in public, but it certainly does feel as though the head coach could be one foot out the door. Pederson was fired three years after winning the Super Bowl, despite making the postseason twice after that, so anything is possible.
