As always, Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has been active this offseason. He's made key trades, signed impactful free agents, and dropped a few surprising selections in the NFL Draft.
As the dust settles from Philly's flurry of moves, a few veterans have been left questioning their spots on the depth chart. But the Eagles can't afford to let these players walk just yet.
Even if they're not as crucial to the construction of the team as they were a year ago, these three veterans should still play important roles in Philadelphia this season.
3 key Philadelphia Eagles veterans still retain value even after notable offseason moves
Jalyx Hunt, Edge
Roseman's mid-draft trade for Jonathan Greenard addressed one of the biggest needs the Eagles still had. The former Minnesota Vikings star will immediately step in as the top pass rusher for Vic Fangio's defense. Now that the team has elected to pick up Nolan Smith Jr.'s fifth-year option, it looks like their starting edge duo is solidified.
But that doesn't mean they can afford to ditch Jalyx Hunt. The former third-round pick was solid in 2025, producing seven sacks and holding his own as an undersized run defender. When the Eagles have been at their best, they've had waves of pass rushers to throw at opposing offenses. Keeping Hunt around will help reestablish that identity.
Cameron Latu, TE
The Eagles spent a second-round pick on tight end Eli Stowers, the apparent successor to Dallas Goedert. They had a clear need at the position heading into the offseason, but the rookie doesn't completely quell those concerns. The offense still lacks a strong run-blocking presence at tight end.
Cameron Latu may be Philly's best option in that role. He may be a better blocker than any of the other tight ends currently on the roster. Even if it's just in three-tight-end formations, he can make an impact.
Kelee Ringo, CB
The Eagles spent most of the 2025 season scrambling to find a second outside cornerback. After failing to do so, they signed Tariq Woolen in free agency. However, the former Seattle Seahawks defender was Philadelphia's only major addition at the position. If either he or Quinyon Mitchell gets injured, the Eagles would be facing the same problem again.

Kelee Ringo might not be the most reliable defender, but he's an important depth piece. The Eagles can be comfortable with him as their backup on the outside.
