OTAs were a good experience for the Philadelphia Eagles in some aspects, with the new players showcasing their skills alongside the team's veterans.
The Eagles are going through a bit of a slow transition on the roster as they try to get younger on offense this offseason, similar to their approach on defense over the last three to four seasons. So far, it appears to be in good shape, as Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has found some great players who are ready to make an immediate impact in 2026.
Some of those new and young players might be making their presence known more than others. Here are four emerging players heading into training camp, already proving they are the alphas on their team.
4 Eagles that are flashing alpha traits before training camp starts
Markel Bell, OT
First impressions go a long way, and wow, did Bell make one with the Eagles players. Starting left tackle Jordan Mailata didn't believe Bell was from this world, so that has to be a good sign. Bell got starting reps at right tackle while Lane Johnson was out and showed early on that his size just makes him a difference-maker for this franchise in the future.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr., LB
Last preseason and the Week 18 matchup against the Washington Commanders really showed Trotter's potential and how good he can be. OTAs were a dominant showcase for Trotter, and this year is different with him moving up the depth chart and now a rotational linebacker with Nakobe Dean gone. Trotter has certainly flexed his muscles and should be on his way to a potential breakout season.
Makai Lemon, WR
Lemon was another rookie who needed to make a good first impression, since he had massive shoes to fill with A.J. Brown being traded. At OTAs, while he missed a little bit of time due to injury, Lemon showed off his quickness with his feet and precise route running. It was a good way to start, as Lemon looks like he could be the perfect complement to DeVonta Smith as WR2.

Riq Woolen, CB
No one had as good of an OTAs as Woolen did. From making interceptions to playing tough coverage, Woolen really shined the brightest and got Eagles fans even more excited about the cornerback position in 2026. While it's too early to have these kinds of feelings, it certainly looks like the Eagles could have the best cornerback trio in the NFL because of what Woolen brings to the CB2 position.
