The Philadelphia Eagles wrapped up Day 2 of joint practice with the New England Patriots, and it felt like a very different vibe from Day 1.
Many of the Eagles reporters called it a victory for Philly after a tougher first day. The Eagles' passing game was much better, and while the secondary was mixed, the defense still made some plays.
Overall, there were a lot fewer losers on Day 2 and a good number of winners. Here's a look at who the winners and losers were from the Eagles' second joint practice with the Patriots.
Winners and losers from Day 2 of Eagles-Patriots joint practice
Winner: Riq Woolen, CB
One clear, massive winner of the day was Woolen and his stellar performance in practice. Woolen played A.J. Brown tough, including at least one nice pass deflection, and had the highlight of the practice with an interception that saw the corner jump in front of the former Eagles, and it would have been a 99-yard pick-six. What an impressive rebound performance for Woolen that was, much needed after his Day 1 performance.
Loser: Quinyon Mitchell, CB
Mitchell went in the opposite direction as Woolen, as Mitchell had a great first day of practice but got really exposed in this second one. A.J. Brown scored five touchdowns on Mitchell, and the All-Pro corner did not get many victories against Brown. This should be chalked up as a bad day for Mitchell and one that can be used as a learning lesson.
Winner: Jalyx Hunt, EDGE
Hunt made life miserable for the Patriots' offense two days in a row. Hunt had a forced fumble and made a diving interception against New England. The Patriots were right to tell an Eagles reporter that Hunt is a problem because he truly is.
Losers: Eagles offensive line
The running game felt like Day 1, but it didn't get much attention as a highlight on the second day of practice. Saquon Barkley broke off a big run, but it was called back for holding, and Lane Johnson got into a scuffle after one play during the day. Not a horrible day for the offensive line, but it doesn't sound like they dominated as they did on Day 1.
Winner: Makai Lemon, WR
Lemon may not have made a play during practice, but he was back and participated in a limited capacity. He did not join the team drills, but he still got some work in. It was the encouraging sign Eagles fans waited to see over the last two weeks from him, as it appears he is one step closer to playing in Week 1.

Winner: Jalen Hurts, QB
Hurts took a lot of criticism for the three interceptions on Day 1, but came out much better on the second day of the joint practice. Despite still throwing two interceptions, Hurts went 9-of-15 and threw four touchdowns. It was a great way to finish out the practice, and it was one of Hurts' best days of practice this season, giving Eagles fans more hope for this offense.
