5 bold predictions for the Eagles in their Week 7 against Giants

We finally get that complete game by the Eagles in Week 7 (we hope). Here's how we see a trip to MetLife playing out,

Mekhi Becton isn't looking forward to his return to MetLife Stadium, but we sure are. Philly has owned this rivalry lately with a few hiccups here and there (see last season's regular-season finale). The Giants home turf has been a nightmare for Jalen Hurts. That pattern may continue in Week 7, but don't worry. The right team will win.

Here's how we see this one playing out.

The Eagles start fast on offense with ten first-quarter points.

We've discussed Philly's slow starts and how they haven't scored any first-quarter points this season. It's been longer than that. Their last first-quarter score dates back to New Year's Eve. Believe it or not, that was a Julio Jones TD reception.

Nick Sirianni never seems to have his team prepared, so we have nothing to base this on but hope. But, we believe this team will get up for Saquon Barkley's revenge game and get out to a faster start. How does ten first quarter points sound? Yes? No?

The Eagles defense allows over 300 yards of offense but limits the Giants to 20 points.

We'll say what many of you believe and refuse to say. We don't trust Vic Fangio or his defense. The Giants will cook something up, and their familiarity with the Birds will do them some favors.

Big Blue has only eclipsed 20 points twice this season, versus the Cleveland Browns and Seattle Seahawks. They will score exactly 20 points in this one while eclipsing 300 yards of total offense, but Philly will score their highest point total of the season and make a few key stops to put a bow on this rivalry game.

Quinyon Mitchell finally gets that first career interception.

We thought Quinyon Mitchell would earn his first career interception vs. the Buccaneers. We were wrong. Two weeks later, he should have hauled in that INT but was robbed by a teammate.

This time, we get it done... For real this time... We think... Say it with us. Q picks off Daniel Jones and snags that first INT.

Saquon Barkley houses one from 50 yards out.

Remember how you felt when Saquon Barkley woke the Eagles' offense up in Week 3 vs. the New Orleans Saints with that 65-yarder? We'll NEVER forget that, nor will we forget that Nick Sirianni is notoriously petty.

Saquon may be aloof to the feelings of Giants fans, but Coach Sirianni won't be. Expect Barkley to touch the football often, and expect him to break one once he gets in a groove.

Saquon Barkley's final stat line: 25 carries, 147 yards rushing, four receptions, 30 yards receiving, two total TDs

You see the numbers. They are self-explanatory. We mentioned Nick is notoriously petty. No one holds a grudge like he does even if that grudge should be someone else's.

Think about the A.J. Brown revenge game vs. Tennessee. Think about the 'Win one for Frank Reich' game versus the Colts in Indy. No one wants Saquon to shine more in this one than Nick Sirianni.

So even though he doesn't call the plays, Saquon will see quite a few touches, and he'll shine. Revenge is Nick's secret sauce. They may not admit this publicly, but that's one of the reason why his teammates love him.

Eagles eclipse 30 points for the first time this season

Philly has had some issues with consistency and traction during Nick Sirianni's coaching tenure, but despite MetLife being a house of horrors, the Giants more often than not provide an opportunity to pad the stat lines.

Philly has scored 30 points or more in four of the seven previous meetings versus Big Blue under Coach Sirianni's watch. While those games and teams have nothing to do with present circumstances, this Eagles team is more talented.

In Week 7, we'll see the game we wanted to see from them all season.

Final score prediction: Eagles 34 - Giants 20
