After getting embarrassed by the Baltimore Ravens 24-7 in the preseason last week, the Philadelphia Eagles are looking to have a much better showing against the New England Patriots in their second game of the preseason.

Philly's starters already set the tone for how the Patriots game should go after performing well on the last day of the teams' joint practices. While the starters likely won't play, the backups will have a chance to show why they belong on the team in 2026.

There are five players who could lock their spot on the roster if they have a great game against the Patriots. Here are the players to watch out for on the Eagles' sidelines and on the field.

Which players on the Eagles can lock their roster spots in against Patriots?

Elijah Moore, WR

Moore is building a good rapport with Jalen Hurts and has been solid throughout training camp. He has really stepped up with DeVonta Smith and Makai Lemon being out with injuries. Give Moore the ball more in this game, and the Eagles might see why he has a chance to make the team and be an impact player in 2026.

Cole Wisniewski, S

Wisniewski just returned from injury this week, but he has already been making plays by sacking the quarterback and breaking up passes. If the Eagles let him play, he will have a shot to show why he should make the team. Heck, he might even put himself in the conversation for the safety position battle with Michael Carter II and Marcus Epps.

Deontae Lawson, LB

Lawson had a very nice start to his young NFL career with five tackles in the preseason loss last week. He has been battling Chance Campbell for a roster spot. If the undrafted rookie from Alabama puts on a show in Massachusetts, consider Lawson the last linebacker on the roster to make the cut.

Willie Lampkin, OL

Lampkin had a breakout performance against the Ravens after pushing a lineman down the field 12 yards. He might be undersized, but he is not allowing sacks and has held his own on the field. Another performance like he had in Baltimore last week, and he might have to get on the 53-man roster easily.

Drew Kendall, OL

Another Eagles offensive lineman who dominated early in the preseason. Kendall is trying to show his versatility by playing center and guard, and he's trying to hold off Jake Majors and Lampkin to do it. The former Eagles draft pick has a fighting chance to stay on the team with another great performance.
