There were some twists and turns to the Philadelphia Eagles' 53-man roster entering the 2026 season, but there are some interesting questions the franchise still faces.
For one thing, will all these players survive the year on the team, or will some be cut? There's always roster movement throughout the season; some guys will get called up from the practice squad, some will be traded, and some will be simply cut.
Five Eagles players could end up being ones who will not be on the roster all year, depending on certain scenarios. Here are the ones that see likely to lose their 53-man roster spot in some way.
Which Eagles are most likely not going to be on the roster all season?
E.J. Jenkins, TE
The Eagles are carrying four tight ends, so eventually Jenkins will be a roster cut victim. If Eli Stowers catches on later in the season, there would be no reason to keep Jenkins on the roster for much longer. It'll be interesting to see how Jenkins gets used this season, but he doesn't feel like a guy who will be on the 53-man roster for much longer.
Kelee Ringo, CB
At some point, someone is going to ask to trade for Ringo to give them depth in their secondaries. The Eagles have continued to try to make him work, and it hasn't worked outside of his work on special teams. Ringo has great size, but his inconsistency in coverage could make him a good fit to be traded at some point, as he's been lucky to make the team at this point.
Mac McWilliams, CB
Philly wouldn't mind keeping McWilliams around as a developmental player, so if anything, he would be cut to make room for another player and be thrown onto the practice squad. The Eagles drafted him, so they don't want to lose him quite yet. McWilliams struggled in preseason, but there is potential there with him to maybe even replace Ringo eventually on special teams.
Elijah Moore, WR
This is less about Moore not being talented enough and more about whether injuries happen at other parts of the roster; he would be one of the first to go. The Eagles carried six wide receivers, and while Moore and Jalen Hurts have built really good rapport in training camp, that's a lot of receivers. Watch for Moore to potentially bounce back and forth on the active roster if there are key injuries.

Andy Dalton, QB
Dalton is one of the top trade candidates on the Eagles, as there will be a point where the Eagles have to start moving on from the four-quarterback room. Teams are going to have injuries at quarterback and need someone they can trust. Dalton feels like the perfect candidate to move off the team and get a Day 3 draft pick for him.
