A.J. Brown didn't respond the way Eagles fans expected him to about the offense

There is no name among the Philadelphia Eagles team that has been spoken about more often than wide receiver A.J. Brown.

After his drama-filled regular season, Brown capped it off with a sideline altercation and refused to talk to the media after the Eagles lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Wild Card game. From that point on, it's been all about whether the star receiver would get traded or not in the offseason.

Everyone in the media has pushed the narrative, trying to justify the Eagles making the trade despite it hurting their financial situation, but no talks have come from Brown himself. Finally, he spoke publicly for the first time since the end of the season, but his responses were unexpected.

A.J. Brown makes his first public comments since the playoff loss

Brown appeared on the Bleacher Report podcast with Green Bay Packers edge rusher Micah Parsons, as the Eagles receiver talked about looking at the offense from the past year and what to do to improve upon it.

"As an offense, we just come back and just really watch the tape. Just like I said earlier rediscover ourselves and go to work each and every day, being accountable, and take it one day at a time. We have great leaders in our locker room. I'm fortunate to be a part of that, especially on offense. We do have a lot of talent, but talent gets us nowhere. It's all about being detailed and discipline."

Parsons followed up with Brown on the new coaching change to the offense, including the hiring of offensive coordinator Sean Mannion. Brown seemed excited about the changes that are being made.

"Of course. Yeah, I'm always excited. Sometimes change is not a bad thing. I have the utmost respect for KP (Kevin Patullo). To me, he did a tremendous job, and he has a great heart, but I am excited for the season. I am excited for what's to come."

These are not the kind of answers he was saying in the first half of the year. Brown was about how the Eagles were an "s-show," and the offense was not playing, which was 100% correct. Philly finished in the bottom 15 in passing, rushing, scoring, and total offense.

Now, these answers he gave just seem way off course from what he believed at the beginning of the season. All of a sudden Patullo did a "remendous job?"

It could be Brown playing nice with the Eagles: either he gets his way and gets traded, or if he knows he's stuck there, he tries to get on their good side. Eagles fans aren't going to buy into what he is saying because they don't believe it themselves. At least he was positive about the new coaching staff coming in, but something feels off.
