Everyone is chiming in on what is going on with the Philadelphia Eagles and what all went wrong with the offense this season. Their star wide receiver, who is the man in the middle of all the drama within the team, has a theory.
The Eagles are coming off an embarrassing 34-17 loss to the New York Giants in Week 6 to drop their record to 4-2. It was a brutal loss that saw the offense once again fall apart completely.
Philly was not able to produce any points in the second half and had two turnovers on offense, the first time that has happened all season. Their rushing attack fell under 100 yards total once again, and they converted just one of nine third downs.
This has sparked even more conversation about what is going on with the team and why they are struggling. Eagles star wide receiver A.J. Brown spoke to the media after the game, sharing the most significant issues, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler on his X post.
"Third quarters are ‘low-key becoming our kryptonite.’ Says he doesn’t think it’s an adjustment issue. ‘We know what they are doing.’ It’s about ‘mindset.’"
Third quarters have truly not been so kind to the Eagles
The third quarter this season for the Eagles has not been great, in particular over the last two games. Only once this season has the Eagles scored over 10 points in the third quarter, and that was against the Los Angeles Rams in their comeback win. In six games, they have scored just 34 points.
One telling sign supporting Brown's statement is that in the last two games, they have only scored seven points in the third quarter. In the loss to the Broncos in Week 5, they racked up 81 yards of offense, while against the Giants, they only had 10 yards in the quarter.
These results show that the Eagles are losing confidence as the game goes on on offense. While Brown is on the right track, it's more than they struggle in the second half in general, except for the Rams game.

Ultimately, it falls on Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo for not making the necessary second half adjustments to make life easier on his offensive unit. Patullo and company have to find a way to use the mini bye to fix things.
