Can he do it?

It has certainly been a wild season for Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown, which has been filled with drama and inconsistent play.

Brown was involved in multiple storylines, including cryptic posts and jumping on streams to call the Eagles an s-show, and don't forget the trade rumors for weeks that Dianna Russini shoved down fans' throats. The first two and a half months of the season were rough, but Brown has been on a tear of late.

Despite the Eagles being just 2-3 in the last five games, Brown has caught 35 passes for 478 yards and four touchdowns with three 100-yard games in there. That great stretch of games now has Brown in a position that no Eagles fan thought he would be in after the disastrous start to the season.

A.J. Brown has a chance to make Eagles history

All Brown needs is 65 more receiving yards to hit the 1,000-yard mark for the season. That would be Brown's sixth 1,000-yard season of his career. It would also be his fourth straight 1,000-yard season with the Eagles.

Why would that be important? Well, no other Eagles receiver has even had four 1,000-yard seasons total in franchise history.

Brown's teammate, DeVonta Smith, is 69 yards away from capturing the third 1,000-yard season of his career. Having two receivers hit over 1,000 yards in a season would be quite the accomplishment for the Eagles, given how the team started the season in the passing game.

This season, Brown has caught 73 passes for 935 yards and seven touchdowns in 14 games. Smith has 72 receptions for 931 yards and four touchdowns in 15 games.

Eagles fans will be cheering for both Brown and Smith to get over 1,000 yards on the season against the Buffalo Bills in Week 17, but Brown getting it might be more important to make the argument for him to stick around in Philly for the 2026 season.
