The first two weeks of the Philadelphia Eagles' search for their next offensive coordinator have been downright miserable for the fan base, but one new candidate entering the picture might change that.
ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that Denver Broncos passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach Davis Webb has gotten three requests from NFL teams to interview for their open offensive coordinator roles, including the Eagles. Webb interviewed with the Las Vegas Raiders and the Buffalo Bills for their head coach openings.
It has not been a long coaching career for Webb, but he has gotten enough attention to be a finalist for multiple head coach jobs. He started as the quarterbacks coach in Denver back in 2023 and was promoted to passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2025.
Eagles fans can get behind Davis Webb for OC
This would still be a massive risk for the Eagles to bring in Webb as an offensive coordinator, since he is another candidate who has never called plays. The momentum Webb has from the head coach interviews, though, makes him seem like the next big thing in coaching.
Some might wonder how this would be any different from Green Bay Packers quarterbacks coach Sean Mannion, who is set for his second interview with the Eagles for the OC job, which is fair. They are only one year apart in coaching experience, but Webb has certainly done more in his time.
Webb has been able to develop Bo Nix into one of the best young quarterbacks in the NFL, and had the Broncos one game away from the Super Bowl. There is more involvement in the offense with Webb as he helps with the passing game and designs it with Sean Payton.
As for Mannion, he strictly just focuses on the quarterbacks and nothing more. He is more green as a candidate than Webb is right now.
The only challenge ahead for the Eagles is that the Broncos fired their offensive coordinator, Joe Lombardi, which could open the door for Denver to promote Webb to offensive coordinator for more money and responsibilities. Philly would have to offer more money, more control, and play-calling duties to lure Webb there.

It's not going to be easy, and it might be a stretch, but if the Eagles could get Webb, that might be the ticket to getting the fan base excited about the OC search again.
