It took just one hour for Eagles fans' dream OC candidate to take another job

Well, it was fun while it lasted.

Remember when Brian Daboll didn't get the Buffalo Bills head coach job, and there were slim hopes that the Philadelphia Eagles might be able to somehow land him as the offensive coordinator? Yeah, those were good times.

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that Daboll is going to take the Tennessee Titans' offensive coordinator job. Schefter's colleague, Jeremy Fowler, added that it was always the intention that Daboll would take that job if he was out of the running for head coach jobs (despite the fact that Fowler, not even a week ago, said not to completely count out Daboll for the Eagles' OC job).

Daboll now joins head coach Robert Saleh in Tennessee to take over the offense and coach up quarterback Cam Ward. As for the Eagles, well, who knows?

Eagles are back to square one with OC search

Pretty much all the top candidates Eagles fans could possibly think of are all out of the hunt for the job. Right now, the top name who interviewed who would make the most sense is Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter.

Back in 2021, Cooter served as a consultant to Nick Sirianni in his first year as a head coach. Cooter has also done a great job with the Colts' offense, despite not being the play caller, helping running back Jonathan Taylor become one of the top backs in the league.

There is also the option of Kliff Kingsbury being the offensive coordinator. He interviewed for the job in 2024 before taking the Commanders' job, and the Eagles hired Kellen Moore as their OC.

The only second-round interview known about right now for the Eagles is Green Bay Packers quarterback coach Sean Mannion, which is now looking like a real possibility. Mannion has only been a coach for two years, but could already move up a second straight year.

Brace for impact, Eagles fans. This is only going to get bumpier for the team in the offseason, whoever takes the offensive coordinator job.
