Editor Note: It has since been reported that Brian Daboll is set to be hired as the Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator.

The Philadelphia Eagles fan base was waiting patiently to see what would happen with the Buffalo Bills' head coach opening and who they would hire.

One of the Eagles' top candidates for the offensive coordinator job, Brian Daboll, was interviewing for the Bills' head coach job and hoping to land it. It turns out Buffalo has promoted offensive coordinator Joe Brady to head coach.

Brady was an OC and head coaching jobs around the league, but will be sticking around in Buffalo. That does leave a massive door open for the Eagles to still get their top candidate.

It's a long shot, but Brian Daboll can still be the OC for the Eagles

It just makes too much sense for Daboll to be the Eagles' offensive coordinator, given his connections to the franchise. From Jalen Hurts to Saquon Barkley, Daboll has worked with them and made them successful, so that familiarity would work really well in Philly.

The problem is that many believe Daboll might still be considering the Tennessee Titans' offensive coordinator job. He also just completed a second round interview for the Las Vegas Raiders head coach opening.

Eagles fans were hoping to get better candidates for the job and are holding out hope that Daboll could still get the job. They might not get their guy, but the hope is enough for the fan base to hang on.

This leaves their candidate pool as Jim Bob Cooter and Daboll, the top candidates. Reports have come in that Green Bay Packers quarterback coach Sean Mannion is going in for his second interview with the Eagles for the offensive coordinator job.

There is still hope that Daboll will change his mind and join the Eagles, but fans will have to wait and see how it plays out.
