Oh really?

The news cycle in the NFL is very slow to the point that ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter can't appear on anything without talking about a potential trade involving Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown.

It is fully expected that the New England Patriots will be the team on the other side of the Brown deal, acquiring him, but is there a chance that something might stop it? Schefter responded to a question on 97.5 The Fanatic in Philly regarding whether the Eagles and Brown would back out of a trade if Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel would resign in the wake of the off-the-field drama with former NFL insider Dianna Russini. That doesn't seem to be a scenario Schefter sees happening.

"No I don't think so. I think I expect that trade to proceed when the two sides are able to come together and formalize a trade that would send A.J. Brown to the Patriots."

A.J. Brown to Patriots trade will happen no matter what

Most Eagles fans are ready for it, but very few people are ready to accept that a trade will happen. This seems to pretty much shut down any hope of Brown wearing an Eagles uniform in 2026.

It's only a matter of time before the trade happens, as it is most likely going down sometime after June 1. Some speculate that the Eagles and Patriots already have a handshake agreement in place, but just need to wait for the financial part to be solved for the Eagles.

There doesn't appear to be any discourse between Brown and the Eagles, as he was spotted at the team facility speaking with members. With recent interviews with players like Cooper DeJean, everyone seems to be good, and there's no drama in Philly except for the one created by the media.

As Eagles fans have been saying for weeks, there are no bad feelings between them and the Browns; this is more about getting this trade over with so fans can move on with their lives. Just a few more weeks, and then Eagles fans can finally enjoy the talent that's on the field.
