Amid all of the celebratory appearances, interviews and vacationing, the Philadelphia Eagles also get to start turning their attention toward next season.

They will continue to enjoy this Super Bowl title, no doubt. But, fans are likely eager for next season even though this past campaign ended days ago. Because the Eagles are champions, of course, that means they get to open up the NFL's season in September.

By the time Week 1 rolls around, the anticipation is going to be sky-high as it usually is for a fresh season. But, who will the Eagles host to kick off the regular slate?

We already know all of the Eagles' 2025 opponents, but the official schedule with dates and times has not yet been released. Yet, one NFL insider thinks he knows which way the league is leaning when it comes to what will be a long-awaited opener.

Adam Schefter thinks the Eagles will host the Bears in the NFL's 2025 season opener

On a recent episode of his podcast, ESPN's Adam Schefter went through the possibilities of Philadelphia's Week 1 matchup. After listing the divisional opponents along with the Broncos, Raiders, Rams and Lions, Schefter felt one other opponent made the most sense.

"The Chicago Bears, in my mind, become the matchup to watch for that Thursday night opener. I can totally see it now," he said.

Schefter counted out the Broncos and Rams thinking the league probably isn't leaning that way. He discounted the Raiders due to the fact that they're simply not good enough for an opening night type of game.

His guess as to the Lions matchup was that the NFL would want to wait until later on in the season when they needed a big ratings week.

"My guess is Bears at Eagles in the opener. I'm calling my shot right now," Schefter stated.

If this ends up being the case, it could make for a fun game. The Bears have renewed hope thanks to hiring former Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson to be their new head coach and are believing he'll help Caleb Williams take a big step in Year 2.

With some pieces in place and the offseason ahead, Chicago could turn this matchup into an exciting one.

Still, the Eagles would have to be big favorites considering how much further ahead and more experienced they are than a Bears team which is going into Year 1 under a new coach.
