We can't say we are shocked. Something told us there was a possibility that Kellen Moore would re-establish himself as a legitimate NFL head-coaching candidate. Look at all of the offensive talent on the Philadelphia Eagles' roster. Jalen Hurts... Saquon Barkley and Dallas Goedert... A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith... We aren't half the play callers that Kellen has become, and we feel like we could score with that team.
Kellen's eventual raw deal in Dallas with the Cowboys eventually led him to whatever you want to call that one-and-done tenure with the L.A. Chargers in 2023, but a massive season in the City of Brotherly Love has his name rolling off everyone's tongue again.
During this Eagles postseason run, we've heard he's all but gone, and we've heard the opposite, that taking over in New Orleans as Saints head coach wasn't necessarily a 'done deal'. We all have all heard a few times that he has been piecing his staff together since he was named as a candidate for the Dallas Cowboys job.
Now, look!
NFL Insider has all but guaranteed Kellen Moore will leave the Eagles and become the next head coach of the New Orleans Saints.
We can't say we're surprised. ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter appeared on Monday's edition of The Pat McAfee Show to discuss the Kellen Moore rumors and said in no uncertain terms that "Barring a setback he's gonna be the Head Coach of the New Orleans Saints". Again, we can't say that we are surprised.
"Kellen Moore is gonna have a chance to probably triple his salary and become a Head Coach..

Good coordinators land head-coaching jobs. No one knows that more than Eagles fans. They've lost former offensive coordinators Frank Reich and Shane Steichen after Super Bowl appearances and now seem set to lose Kellen.
This one feels like the Jonathan Gannon hire by the Arizona Cardinals though. Interviews have been conducted during Philly's postseason run. Let's hope Moore displays more focus during the big game than J.G. did though.
Still, either way, we think we know how this ends. Both Moore and Gannon played the Super Bowl in the town where they'd wind up taking their first HC job. Regardless of the outcome of Sunday's big game, it appears the return flight won't include one of Philly's top assistant coaches.
