Something is coming with the Philadelphia Eagles and wide receiver A.J. Brown. That has been known for months now.

Brown is speculated to be traded to the New England Patriots sometime after 4:01 pm EST on June 1, so the Eagles would take less of a financial hit by saving $7 million against the cap and cutting the dead cap hit in half. It's only a matter of time at this point, but it might be coming sooner than expected, given Brown's recent activity.

Eagles fans pointed out that Brown had deleted his X account the day before he was expected to be traded from the team. This would be a new move for him, as he has been known to use social media to send subtle messages about his frustrations with the Eagles.

The timing is, of course, interesting. Brown is more active on social media than most athletes are, as Eagles fans know all too well. Last year, Brown used X and Instagram to vent his frustrations with the Eagles by dropping cryptic images and quotes that made it clear he was displeased, to the point that owner Jeffrey Lurie had to ask him privately to tone it down.

Those were the clear first signs that Brown was unhappy in Philly, to the point that, according to a report that came out after the season, he had requested a trade multiple times throughout the season. He would go on to finish the season with 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns.

Some wonder what motivates Brown to disconnect from social media now, and not before. Is it to show his next team that he won't use it to vent? Or is he simply trying to get off social media for good?

Eagles fans wish he had done this last season, but it is what it is at this point. Brown will be traded soon enough, and the Eagles can move on with their lives.
