A.J. Brown's pending trade doesn't change narrative about Eagles' supporting cast

The weapons are there.

With the pending trade of A.J. Brown coming up soon, many experts are worried about the Philadelphia Eagles' offense without one of the best wide receivers in the NFL, but should fans be concerned?

FOX Sports NFL reporter Ralph Vacciano ranked all 32 NFL teams' supporting cast on offense. Vacciano still believes in the Eagles' offense as he ranked them fourth.

"They looked so dysfunctional all last year, but it was never because of a lack of talent around QB Jalen Hurts. The truth is, Philly is still loaded on offense. Saquon Barkley has 2,000-yard potential. The offensive line is the envy of most teams, despite coming off a relative down season. Dallas Goedert, as long as he stays healthy, is a reliable and dangerous tight end. And even if they trade A.J. Brown — which seems increasingly likely — they have a deep and dangerous receiving corps.

DeVonta Smith is a worthy No. 1. In fact, he could become a top-five receiver once he’s out of Brown’s needy shadow. The Eagles also traded for Dontayvion Wicks and drafted Makai Lemon in the first round, and they signed Hollywood Brown, who is still only 28. All three wideouts could contribute a lot. New offensive coordinator Sean Mannion is younger than some of his players and has never been a coordinator before. But he sure has a lot of talent to work with in his first year."

Eagles supporting cast is ranked fourth without A.J. Brown there

Smith is criminally underrated as a wide receiver, as he has still posted three 1,000-yard seasons in five years in Philly, with four of them dealing with Brown there. There's no doubt in any Eagles fan's mind that Smith is ready to jump into the WR1 role and excel at it.

The rest of the wide receiver room is still really solid, as Lemon looks promising as the Eagles' slot receiver, and Wicks gives them the tall, lengthy possession receiver they need. Hollywood is going to do some damage as the serious threat that speed receiver Hurts has not had.

Outside of the wide receivers, there is plenty to get excited about with the tight ends. Dallas Goedert and Eli Stowers might be a one-year duo, but both are threats in the passing game, with Stowers being the more athletic target.

Even with a down season, Barkley is still one of the best running backs in the NFL. His backup, Tank Bigsby, deserves a lot more respect as an underrated back with great vision and breakaway speed.

Brown is going to be gone, and it's going to hurt, but the Eagles have plenty of weapons to work with in the future that they don't necessarily need him.
