The departure of A.J. Brown as he got traded to the New England Patriots is going to be a tough on the Philadelphia Eagles no matter how anyone looks at it.

Philly is losing a two-time Pro Bowler and three-time second-team All-Pro from his four years with the Eagles, but that doesn't mean they still don't have weapons on offense. Sports Illustrated's Matt Verderame ranked the best offensive triplets in the NFL, with the Eagles' trio ninth, which included Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, and DeVonta Smith.

"What to make of Hurts? He struggled throughout much of last season, throwing for 3,224 yards while posting a success rate of 41.8%, the lowest of his career since his rookie season. Now, without A.J. Brown, the passing attack rests primarily on Smith and rookie Makai Lemon, while Barkley has to find something close to his 2024 form, when he rushed for 2,005 yards and 13 touchdowns. His numbers fell dramatically last year, dropping to 1,140 yards and seven scores."

Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, and DeVonta Smith make up Eagles' strong trio

Hurts is a proven winner, having won over 68% of the games he has started in the regular season and consistently leading the Eagles to the playoffs. People may question his limitations as a passer, but he can play the position better than most of the quarterbacks in the NFL.

Barkley is coming back from a down season, but still ran for over 1,100 yards last year. He still has breakaway speed on long runs and can help in the passing game, so the whole package is still there, and he's one of the best in the league.

It's about time that Smith gets his shot to be the number one receiver in the NFL, as he has worked for this moment for five years. Smith already proved he can do the job with three 1,000-yard seasons in five seasons and was the team's leading receiver last season with 1,008 yards, which was five more than Brown.

While people believe Brown's departure is a massive loss for the Eagles, this offense still has a ton of weapons and should be considered one of the best in the NFL. Smith and Barkley alone give Hurts everything he needs to be a successful quarterback.
