There's no general manager in the NFL or in sports who is doing his job better than Philadelphia Eagles GM Howie Roseman is doing.

Roseman has made some of the best decisions over the last decade-plus, helping the Eagles bring home two Super Bowls. He has rarely missed on his trades, signings, and draft picks, but he faces an interesting situation that he has never faced before.

Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown is more than likely going to be traded to the New England Patriots, with the details of the trade still needing to be figured out. That part is what will really show how Eagles fans and the NFL remember Roseman years from now, when he is retired.

Howie Roseman could be defined by how he handles this A.J. Brown trade

Yes, this seems like an insane thing to say, as Roseman's legacy will most likely be that he is one of the greatest general managers in NFL history. A lot can happen with this trade that could either help grow his reputation or actually hurt it.

The holdup in the trade has reportedly been the Patriots' hesitation to give up a first-round pick. Roseman has stuck to his guns, saying he needs a first-round pick for Brown, since they are the ones trading away a three-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion.

If Roseman is able to execute the trade with a first-round pick being acquired, it will show what everyone has been saying about him: he's mastered the art of negotiation. He has a knack for making sure he gets the best possible deal, or he won't make it at all.

On the flip side, not getting a first-round pick would be crushing not only for the Eagles but also for Roseman's reputation. It might cause the league to view him differently, which could lead to more lopsided trades not in the Eagles' favor or to Roseman slowing down the number of trades he makes.

Roseman is good at his job, and Eagles fans are confident he will get the job done. If the Eagles can still win a Super Bowl without Brown and Roseman makes this deal, there will be no question that he is a shoo-in to be in the Hall of Fame and solidify his legacy as the best to ever do it.
