The Philadelphia Eagles finally made the trade we were all waiting for them to make, sending A.J. Brown to the New England Patriots in the least shocking move ever. As a result of the trade, the other NFC East teams are getting their shots in at the Eagles because... Well, when else do they really get that chance?

With Brown now out of the NFC East, the other teams in the division feel like they have a fighting chance at stripping the division crown away from the Eagles. Levi Dombro of The Landry Hat discussed how, now that Brown is on his way out of Philly, the Cowboys are the frontrunners to win the NFC East.

"For the second straight offseason, the Eagles lost way more talent in free agency than they acquired. The Cowboys, however, worked through all of the proper channels to upgrade the roster and coaching staff, providing promise for the fanbase.

And on Monday, the cherry was so beautifully placed on top of the sundae," Dombro wrote before going into details about the trade. He then pivoted to how this could be Dallas' year to get back on top of the division.

"The Cowboys certainly don't have the easiest schedule, but the door is now wide open to the NFC East crown after the Eagles traded Brown away. The future capital that Howie Roseman got is great, but that won't help Philadelphia in 2026. Now is the time for Dallas to seize the division."

Eagles fans will enjoy Cowboys fans' delusions about winning NFC East

That's cute.

Look, the Eagles might not be as good of a team today as they were yesterday when Brown was on the roster, but this was always the plan. Brown was never going to be a part of the Eagles' roster in 2026, and for good reason. That ship had sailed, and it was time for the two sides to part ways.

If there's one thing we know about Howie Roseman, though, it's that he'll find a way to ensure this roster is the best in the NFC East. He's been an absolute wizard at building this team and keeping them in Super Bowl contention.

Meanwhile, Jerry Jones' main priority is to be the most talked-about person in Dallas. The Cowboys might have a better wide receiver room than Philadelphia now, but the Eagles' overall roster is better, and that's going to show in 2026.

Until the Eagles are dethroned from their NFC East mountain, we don't need to waste any more energy talking about that as a possibility.
