There are many who have their doubts about Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and his future, but a new bold prediction has taken that doubt to new, ugly heights.
Now that A.J. Brown is out of town and Sean Mannion takes over as the new offensive coordinator, many are starting to wonder if Hurts will be the next one gone after having a "down" 2025 season. Sports Illustrated writer Conor Orr shared his 100 bold predictions for the 2026 season, with one of them being that Hurts will throw fewer touchdown passes than any other quarterback in the NFC East.
"New season, new offensive coordinator and no A.J. Brown. That means new challenges for Jalen Hurts, in addition to the old ones which never seem to have left him behind. I don’t think the Eagles will move on from Hurts after this season, but the team continues to add meaningful depth behind the Super Bowl champion."
The Jalen Hurts criticism has offically gone too far
Last season, Hurts threw a career-high 25 touchdown passes for the Eagles. It can be argued that h has the deepest wide receiver room he has ever had with DeVonta Smith, Makai Lemon, Hollywood Brown, Dontayvion Wicks, and Elijah Moore there. Hurts even has Dallas Goedert and Eli Stowers there, so why would everyone think he would actually do worse?
Sure, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott will most likely throw more touchdowns than Hurts because his team is down by a lot in the second half all the time, so he has to pad the stats with the NFL experts then calling him an "MVP candidate" because of it. As for Washington Commanders' Jayden Daniels and New York Giants' Jaxson Dart, there should be no doubt that Hurts will beat them in touchdown passes.
The Giants are going to run the football more, and despite signing 500 wide receivers last year, they got a bunch of washed-up receivers who can't replace Malik Nabers if he is not ready to do so in 2026. Daniels is coming off a year in which he suffered multiple injuries, so who knows if he can even be the guy he was in his rookie season.

All this obnoxiousness of criticizing Hurts has got to stop with these ridiculous predictions for him. Hurts is going to be just fine, and the Eagles will be just fine.
