There are plenty of questions being asked by Philadelphia Eagles fans about the team this offseason, but one that isn't getting talked about as much is the quarterback room.
While some have their feelings on starting quarterback Jalen Hurts, the Eagles seem to be backing him up for the 2026 season. Also backing Hurts up for now is Tanner McKee, who was a popular name for trade talk last offseason and could be again this year.
ESPN NFL analyst Benjamin Solak shared his bold prediction on what the Eagles will do in the offseason. Solak sees the Eagles trading McKee to acquire draft capital.
"The quarterback factory spits out another trade, as the Eagles will deal QB2 Tanner McKee to the Dolphins in exchange for a middle-round pick. Somehow, this deal eventually gets folded into another team-saving trade just before November's trade deadline."
How would a Tanner McKee trade impact the Eagles and Jalen Hurts?
McKee impressed everyone in the game-and-a-half he played in 2024, but a second career start back in Week 18 against the Washington Commanders left some feeling iffy about him. He completed just 52.5% of his passes for 241 yards and one touchdown to one interception in the loss.
Who knows what kind of offers the Eagles got for McKee last offseason, but it certainly feels like making a deal to move him would be the smart move to get some value out of him. The Miami Dolphins need a quarterback with a new regime coming in and starter Tua Tagovailoa on his way out the door.
That leaves fans wondering what it could mean for Hurts and the rest of the quarterbacks in the room. Eagles fans know that Hurts will be the starter in 2026, but he will have a new backup.
The most likely outcome is that the Eagles, being a self-proclaimed "QB factory", will use the NFL Draft to find a new backup quarterback. Last year, they took Kyle McCord in the sixth round, but he did not pan out, as he ended up on the practice squad. It will be very telling when the Eagles pick a quarterback, as if they get one in the first two rounds, that's a massive sign of trouble for Hurts.

Philly is always a mystery when it comes to how they will approach the offseason, but how they handle the quarterback room could be an interesting storyline.
