If Philadelphia Eagles fans thought the drama of the team was over since the offseason was beginning, they would 100% be wrong, and they probably wouldn't be too surprised by it.
The Eagles' 23-19 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Wild Card game had its own drama, involving wide receiver A.J. Brown, from his heated exchange with head coach Nick Sirianni on the sidelines to not speaking with reporters after the game. While quarterback Jalen Hurts was left out of all of it, there might be some more behind-the-scenes drama involving him.
The Athletic's Michael Silver wrote a new article about what is going on in Philadelphia, and he shared some interesting tidbits from the locker room. It appears that the Eagles players are not too happy with how Hurts gets treated by the bosses.
"To his credit, Sirianni’s ability to manage strong personalities and navigate a pressure-packed environment has been impressive, even as he fights a tendency to let his emotions get the best of him.
For example, though it was understandable that the coach wanted Brown to get off the field after a second-quarter incompletion so the punt team could avoid a delay-of-game penalty, forcefully getting in the face of his frustrated receiver following a dropped pass might not have been the smoothest move.
This is especially true when it’s juxtaposed against a sense inside the locker room that the Eagles’ powerbrokers (Sirianni, general manager Howie Roseman and owner Jeffrey Lurie) are reluctant to criticize Hurts. For all that the quarterback has accomplished, including two standout performances on the sport’s biggest stage (one of which earned him Super Bowl MVP honors), he has been the source of much internal frustration, including from teammates other than (A.J.) Brown."
More reports of frustration from Eagles players regarding Jalen Hurts
This is not the first time this season that a report like this has come out about Eagles players being frustrated with Hurts. Eagles reporter Derrick Gunn shared earlier in the season that players were frustrated with how Hurts was playing on the field.
Hurts finished the season completing over 64% of his passes for 3,224 yards and a career-high 25 touchdowns to just six interceptions. He also ran for 421 yards and eight touchdowns in 16 games.
It appears as though there is credible friction in the locker room between Hurts and the other players, which is now becoming a bit of a problem. What the solution to that is, Sirianni, Roseman, and Lurie are going to have to figure out.

Now this is going to be another topic of conversation in the offseason, along with Lane Johnson's future decision and whether Brown is going to get traded. Regardless of Eagles fans, don't expect a quiet offseason in Philly.
